This guide to Preptember Sales has been updated for 2026, sharing updated deals on prepping supplies and preparedness gear through the month of September.

What is Preptember?

September is a big month for preparedness, including National Preparedness Month and Hurricane Preparedness Month.

All of this preparedness awareness in September is shortened to Preptember.

The moniker is used by all sorts of people and organizations, including the CDC, preparedness groups, and plenty of prepper creators. It’s also used by hackers ahead of ‘Hacktoberfest’, but it was first used by preppers, and the preparedness month usage is more common.

Some brands and suppliers have caught on and started running sales for the month of September, calling them Preptember sales. You can find some good deals, so now we’ll move along to our favorites.

Food Storage

Food storage companies live and die by preparedness, so of course, they are participating.

Here are the big ones:

Augason Farms has up to 45% off on all of their emergency kit buckets and pouches.
Mountain House has up to 60% off kits, cans, and pouches.
My Patriot Supply has a few markdowns for National Preparedness Month.

You’ll recognize AF and MH as top picks in our emergency food supplier review.

Stocking up on shelf-stable food is always a good idea when it’s on sale.

First Aid & Medical Preparedness

Nothing is more practical for preparedness than having crucial first aid and medicine supplies on hand for an emergency. Everyone gets sick or hurt occasionally, and having that overlap with a situation where you can’t reach medical assistance can compound problems quickly.

IFAKs

Survive X is running a sale on their first aid kits along with a stacking 10% off coupon code that works site-wide.

Survive X Large First Aid Kit – $109 (was $140) – Use code GETREADY10 for the additional 10% off.

Prescription Medicine

Jase Medical is running a National Preparedness Month promo, where you get a $10 credit for future purchases with every $100 you spend. Normally, I’m not impressed by those types of sales, but if you are using Jase Daily or keeping a rotating stock of emergency medicine, you’ll actually use the credit.

After reviewing the best antibiotic kit suppliers, Jase came out on top due to their service, antibiotic selection, optional add-ons, and best-in-class online ordering process.

Jase Case: $269 (was $289) – It’s also on sale right now, stacking with the credit.

They also offer many additional prescription-related services that can help you maintain your critical medication supplies during supply chain disruptions.

Many people overlook critical medicine for preparedness, but it’s something worth investing in.

Premade Bug Out Bags

The Ready America kits are on sale, with the 1-person 3-day kit being the budget pick from our premade bug out bag review.

Here are the best budget options with sale prices on Amazon:

Ready America 1-Person 3-Day Kit – $25 (was $36)
Ready America 2-Person 3-Day Kit – $39 (was $55)
